Aashiyana Institute – Zari, Zuarinagar organized its first Annual Day program at Ravindra Bhavan- Vasco.
The program began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran and was followed by a welcome song by the students . Later the Chief Guest of the function Mrs. Samira Kazi, Ex- Chairperson of Commission for Protection of Child Rights was introduced and presented a bouquet . The guest of honor for the day was Jb. Abdul Wahid Khan – Ameer e Halqa, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Goa Zone.
The students of Aashiyana Institute enthralled the guest with their sterling performance and display of talents. The students enthusiastically went about show casing their progress with skits, mono-act play , just a minute, poetry recitation and hamd.
The first standard students displayed the creation of Allah and came attired as the sun, moon, flowers, water, etc. This was followed by “naath” by students of class four and later the Principal of the Institute presented the journey of Aashiyana Institute through a slide show of various activities of the past two years.
Chief Guest was later invited to speak a few words and she appreciated the efforts of Aashiyana Institute and prayed for its success. She advised the teachers to help and guide the children and in doing so to be compassionate and loving. She said teachers play a significant role in inculcating positive values and this can best happen when they do not resort to corporal punishments to mentor them. She said she was impressed with the talents of the students and wished for them all the best in the future. She said she was always fond of Arabic and was impressed that at Aashiyana special efforts were being undertaken to teach Arabic.
The Chief Guest was pleased to give away the prizes to the students who had excelled in the various in-house competitions. Later the Special Guest Mrs. Shahida Khan – Member Jamaat-e-islami Hind gave away the prizes to students who performed at the Annual day program.
Jb. Sayed Baseer -Chairman of Madhur Sandesh Trust and other trustees were also present. The program was attended by the people from different walks of life and prominent citizens of Vasco.The program was compered by Miss Amber Shaikh and the vote of thanks was proposed by Miss Nagma Shaikh.
