A Free Medical Camp for women was organized by Humanitarian Relief Society Goa(HRS) in association with Women’s Wing,Jamaat e Islami Hind(JIH) on 1st of December 2013 from 8.30am to 1pm at Al-aman Complex Sirvodem,Margao.
The camp started with Tilawat e Quran by Farnaz Banu(Worker of Women’s Wing JIH). 5 doctors volunteered for the camp, 4 gynecologists and 1 physicians. Doctors who co operated in the camp were Dr.Joanna.A.Tavares (MBBS,DGO),Dr.Aurelia Albuqurue (MBBS,DGO),Dr.Chitra.D.Lotlikar (MBBS,PGDGM), Dr.Saroja Carvalho (MBBS,DGO), Dr.Suparna.R.Borkar (MBBS,DNB(OBGy),MNAMS).
200 people from locality registered and benefited from the camp. They were provided free check up and given free medicines.Before sending the patients to the Doctors screening of Blood Pressure , Blood Sugar and Health complaints were taken down by 2 Medical Students Zarin and Zahra. The doctors were assisted by 2 nurses and 15 volunteers(Women’s Wing & GIO).
At the end of the camp ,concluding programme was been arranged that Mrs.Fareena Husaini (Worker of Women’s Wing JIH) have presented ‘ the Introduction of J.I.H and its wings and HRS’, in which she briefly explained that HRS is a social service wing of Jamaat e Islami Hind and it was registered as NGO in the year 2010. She also gave brief description of HRS’s objectives in the educational field, in the medical field, regarding Micro Finance and how it works during disaster management. In the concluding programme doctors appreciated the camp in their talks and they also said that they are ready to come anytime or for further camps.The momentous were presented to the doctors by Mrs.Saira Banu(president of All Goa Women’s Wing JIH) and by. Mrs.Tabassum Saheba(president of Women’s Wing JIH Margao). The programme ended up with Vote of Thanks by Mrs.Gulzar Parvin( worker of Women’s Wing JIH , member of Board of Islamic Education). Asadullah Khan Pathan (President of JIH margao), Abdul Wahab (Secretary of HRS Goa) and M.Ismail Saheb(Camp Incharge) were also present and other members of JIH were also co-operated during the camp.
