The Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO), Vasco Unit organized ‘Students’ Visit Masjid’ at Masjid-e-Noor, Dabolim for the students of MES College, Zuarinagar.
The programme was one of its first to have ever been organized in Goa and was organised for the second time by Vasco Unit. As‘ad Shah, Unit President, SIO Vasco had taken the students on a tour of the whole mosque and explained in details of all the activities that are undertaken in mosque.
The Programme started with the Recitation of the Qur’an by Mohammad Nafay and was translated by Kasif Shaikh. Usman Khan, Zonal Secretary, SIO Goa explained and elaborated the importance of Ramadan, Qur’an and fasting while delivering a lecture on ‘Rains of Rahmah’.
The students then got the opportunity to ask questions on Ramadan and Islam to SIO Leaders. Mohammed Anees, Zonal President, SIO Goa said that the programme was an effort to acquaint the Non-Muslim students with Islam and the activities around the mosque which is the centre for Muslims for their activities. He further said that students and youth are the asset of the society and they being well informed about their brothers in the society is of utmost importance.
More than 70 Students along with their Faculty Members from MES College attended this programme. The students were given books on Life of Prophet and the Qur’an. The Program was convened by Shaikh Shoaib.
