Aashiyana institute, at Zari,Zuarinagar, Sancoale,Goa, celebrated the republic day in its school premises on 26-01-2019.
Mrs Chandralekha Dsouza, an eminent reader and writer, retired HOD of Konkani, Goa University and a writer of few books to her credit, was the Chief Guest for the day.
The programme started at 8.15, with the unfurling of the national flag by the chief guest followed by the national anthem. Latter the children presented skits and songs on national integration. Children were then presented by gifts for the various competitions held in the school earlier. The chief guest of the day shared her thoughts on the special occasion and said how the freedom was a result of the efforts by many people and not few. She also said that the only way to contribute to the progress of our country was through education. She urged the students to take this opportunity and make best use of it.
The Chairman of Aashiyan Institute, Mr Abdul Wahab, spoke on the occasion and said that the school is trying its level best to give the best possible education to the students by way of different programmes and various inter school competitions. He also added that the school encourages children to think differently and to come up with new ideas.
The Headmistress, Mrs Tafsin Shaikh gave the vote of thanks and thanked all for coming and giving their valuable time for the school programme.
