Women’s Wing of Jamaate Islami Hind Goa Participated in a Protest organized by BAILANCHO SAAD . Many women’s groups from the state staged a Protest at the KTC Bus stand in Panji to express solidarity with the rape victims and protest the heinous crime against women.
Addressing the Protest , Ms Sabina Martins demanded a separate police station for the safety and security of the women within 8-days in the state, failing which she said they would be forced to stage a Protest right infront of the Chief Minister’s bungalow.
“There is an urgent need of a drastic change in the attitude and mentality of males towards women. Only then, we would be able to make this world safer for women of all ages,” she said.
Mrs Shaheen Khan From Jamaat-E Islami Hind Womens Wing Margao said that using women in advertisement to sell Products is a reason behind this and should be stopped. She also said that moral values and respect towards women should be inculcated in in men right from childhood so that they don’t commit such crimes.
Mrs Nazmeen Khan from Jamaat Womens Wing Vasco said that these cases have been happening continuously for so many years now and why after sixty years of independence, women in India are not safe.
Mrs Gulzar Parvin from Jamaat Womens Wing Margao said that the vulgar display of women in television drives youth to commit such acts. She also said that the root cause for all these should be analysed and action should be taken.
