Board of Islamic Education Goa organized its annual sports day at Bondla recently. The children from all the units of Goa ie Mapusa, Panaji, Vasco, Margao, Pilar, Bicholim and Sankelim and Ashiyana participated.
The sports day was organised to encourage outdoor sports amongst childten and impress upon the children the need for excercise and fitness.
The chief organiser Jb Ateeq-ur-Rehman in his inaugural address stated the need to uphold the spirit sportmanship and discipline during such events. He said commercialisation of sports has led to many mal-practices among top sportsmen and women. Later the rules and regulations for the sporting events were read out.

The games were declared open and the students participated in the games of their choice.Running race, lemon and spoon, gunny bag race etc were few of the competitions.

The sports day began with the Gunny bag race followed by lemon and spoon race.The students participated with lot of enthusiasm. All the events were completed before lunch and the post lunch session was much awaited as the prizes for winners of the event were to be declared.
The children were happy and excited and each cheered the winners ofvthe different sports competitions

The Sports Championship 2015 Trophy was won by the Panjim unit.

At the end of the day Ameer-e-Halqa -Goa ongratulated the students in his concluding address and adviced them to be good to their parents and teachers and keep themselves away from distractions and addictions such social media and tobacco . And the event was ended with vote of thanks by Mohammad Anis Secretary BIE – Goa
