The Board of Islamic Education initiative towards week-end Islamic classes for school children organized special idd-ul-fitr celebration at each of its centre all across Goa. Eid Milan programme was held at Islamic Centre Goa, Mapusa, Students Centre – Panjim, Aashiyana Institute- Dabolim, Madhur Sandesh Centre – Vasco, Al-aman Society – Margao and at centre’s in Sanquelim, Bicholim and Valpoi.
The Idd- Milan at different centre’s was an opportunity for the BIE students to share the joy and happiness of idd-ul-Fitr. The program began with the recitation of Verses from the Quran. Various competitions were the highlights of the celebrations and winners and participants were awarded prizes. The singing of “Hamd” and “Naath” was part of the celebrations. A video clip on the virtues of charity and sharing was also part of the program.
The children brought “seviyan and kheer” from home and exchanged it with each other. Finally when it was time to go home the children thanked the centre co-ordinator for arranging Idd-Milan programs specially for the children.
