Board of Islamic Education Goa organized a 1- Day teachers training camp at Islamic centre Goa on 2nd June . The secretary of the BIE Goa Jb Altaf Shah in his welcome address introduced the concept of “ Weekend Islamic Classes” to the fresh batch of Islamic teachers. He shared the experiences of the past two years of the “Weekend Islamic Classes” with the delegates.
In his keynote address Jb Abdul Wahid Khan, Ameer –e-Halqa – Jamaat-e-Islami Hind- Goa Zone appreciated the dedicated efforts of the teachers and their sacrifices and said without their enthusiasm, the journey of last two years would have been a difficult one. He said the tourism industry in Goa has brought along many social vices and distractions for the youth in Goa. Under these circumstances the role of teachers in mentoring the new generation assumes greater significance. He said BIE Goa has taken many initiatives in the past few years and has specially focused on the Islamic education of the new generation. The existing 7 centre’s were well equipped with latest teaching aids and tools. He said BIE Goa will start 3 new centre’s for the current academic year. He stressed the need for “talukkbillah” (closeness to Allah) and clarity of vision for fulfilling the requirements of a mentor and guide for the children.
Br. Asif Hussain was the moderator for the open house session “ Understanding The Past To Move Ahead”. The resource persons for the day were Jb S.N. Kazi (Retd Jt. Director, DSERT – Bangalore) and Maulana Abdul Mubeen Asari . Br. Armaan Naik demonstrated the effectiveness of “Lesson Plan” and in his practical session quizzed and prompted them to come up with an innovative lesson plan. In the concluding session the details of the courses for the academic year 2013-14 were discussed. The syllabus and other teachings tools were on display at the exhibition centre on the ground floor.
