Board of Islamic Education (Panjim unit) organised an annual gathering for the students at the Islamic Centre, Mapusa.
The BIE’s Panjim unit consists of 25 students of the age group ranging from 6-12 years. The chief guest of this event was Mr.Irshad Sheikh.
The programme started with Qur’an tilaawat of Surah Al-Alaq (verses 1-5).
Mrs. Shehnaz Sheikh (Principal-BIE, Panjim unit), gave the inaugural address and welcomed all the guests.
Mr.Abdul Wahid Khan (Amir-e-Halqa, JIH)accompanied byMr. Firoz Khan (BIE committee member), gave briefspeech to the parents. There wasa small interactive session for parents. The parents actively participatedand expressed their views and feedback.
There was a drawing competition conducted by Br. Armaan and Br. Nawaz during the programme. All the kids participated with immense joy and enthusiasm. The themes for the competition were ‘Allah’s creation’ (junior category) and ‘Pillars of Islam’ (senior category).
The winners of the competition were announced during the prize distribution ceremony. The winners are as follows:

A special category prize for below 4 years was given to Fahim Khan.
Also prizes for solving the Islamic quiz book Angels Treasure were given whose winners were

3. Danish Khan.
Participation certificates and consolation prizes were given to the rest of the participants.
Master.Ashad Belwadi a student of Mapusa unit recited a small naat for the guests, followed by a brief speech by the chief guest where he emphasized on the need to have such classes.
After the programme lunch was served.
The students enjoyed themselves thoroughlyand there was smile on every face.
