Isteqbal e Ramadan Programme was organized by mapusa unit at Islamic Centre Goa on 7th July 2013 at 04:00 pm. Around 240 gents and Ladies attended the programme. The programme started with tadhkeer bil Quran by Jb. Jamal Mallik shedding some deep insight on the quranic take on Ramadan and inaugural address by Jb. Samiullah Belwadi. Mau. Abdul Mubeen Asri laid the concept of fasting very clearly, and explained some deep philosophy on Ramadan. The programme was presided by Jb. Abdul Wahid Khan (Amir e Halqua Goa). In his concluding address he stress the importance and the purpose of being khair e ummat and to realize the purpose of Ramadan in our life. The common misconception that Ramadan is only for cleansing our sin should be rectified. He said that Ramadan is also for inculcating and developing good character/values/sunnah the essential tools much needed for ‘Iqamat e deen’, the very purpose of being a Muslim. The programme ended on time with dua.
