The Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO) held a 3 day Islamic classes during the winter vactions for girls and ladies with the theme ‘Lets learn Islam’ at 6 different units across Goa from the 28th of December till the 30th of December 2014.
The aim of the programme was to acquaint young girls as well as ladies with the basics of Islam which would strengthen the fundamental beliefs and help them understand Islam in a better way.
The Programme at Pilar was conducted at Masjid us Salam-Pilar.
The purpose of the programme was explained by Mrs Gulzar who delivered the inaugural address in which she stressed on the fact that Islamic fundamentals would help each one to achieve the real purpose of life.
The 1st pillar of Islam in which concept of Tauheed , its details and its importance for a Muslim was explained by Miss Ambrin Baig followed by the 2nd pillar Namaz. The prerequisites for Namaz, the method of ablution and the correct procedure was explained with the help of a video.
Mrs Gulzar took over and explained in brief about Fasting, Zakat and Hajj and their importance. The 1st day ended with allotment of assignment wherein the participants were told to find some simple answers to questions raised on day obe of the camp..
On the second day all the articles of faith including belief in Allah, all the Messengers, the Angels, the Final Day and the resurrection, The destiny, and life after death were expounded by Miss Ambrin Baig followed by an introduction to what is a Hadith and what is a Sunnah.
Miss Sharmin Khan then read and explained a beautiful Hadith about the major sins and the punishment one would face for them in this life and the next.
On the last day concept of Jannah and Jahannum were very well presented by Mrs Muneera and Sharmin Khan followed by a brief Hadith by Miss Ambrin about our obligations as Muslims towards other Muslims.
Mrs Gulzar proposed the concluding address in which she told how each one could start moving towards their final destination in the hereafter.
In the end Janab Hassan Khan asked the audience about their feedbacks and encouraged them to continue acquiring knowledge and sharing it with others as well!
