With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadhan just a fortnight away, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Margao Unit organized the “Welcome Ramadhan 2014” on 13th June 2014 at Masjid-e-Abrar, Margao
Janab Abdul Haseeb Sab – an eminent leader of the Jamaat –e-islami Hind having deep social & organizational connections with Goa since the 60’s was the speaker on the occasion
Addressing a gathering of around 250 men and women on 13th June on the topic of “ISTEQBAALE RAMADHAN”the learned orator said Ramadhan is holy month with multi-dimensional features benefitting an individual, family, society and humanity at large. He said,
Ramadhan is the month in which was revealed the holy quran as guidance to the mankind in a night which is better than 1000 months called “LailatulQadr” and hence our connection & attachment with this book in terms of reading it, understanding the guidelines and most importantly leading our lives in alignment with the commandments of Quran becomes mandatory as a selected Ummah
Abdul haseeb sab-Trustee Al-Aman society, Goa apart from holding various other tehreeki responsibilities in his typical style urged the gathering to avoid the “DALLI-BOTI” habit of plunging on the food & spend the precious moments in gulping loads of stuff rather to use the month of Fasting for self-purification, self-assessment, self-development and to seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah.
He instructed the residents of Margao to fast with genuine spirits for the sake of Allah, Being humble, polite, caring, sharing, reading the Quran at least once during ramadhan, offering taraweeh prayers &Tahajjud Prayers. Giving charity through the institution of zakath as per Quranic instructions, spending the last part of Ramadhan in Etekaaf ( devotional solitude) and distributing Fitra, etc.
Janab Haseeb sab finally asked the gathering to know that the Quran came as a guidance and healing for the whole of Mankind and hence it would be the right time to spread its values and practical teachings to all mankind.
The Speaker concluded his speech with a punch line statement saying “if the people sitting here on this occasion resolve to change and mould themselves according to the Quran then the entire state of Goa would benefit from their exemplary life”
He concluded the talk & program with prayers for the whole of mankind to be enlightened.
